This little slice of Wisconsin surprised me in many ways with its beauty! I came across this spot while searching Instagram hashtags and added this adorable spot on my, "trip list." After showing my boyfriend, Nate, the images we decided to get some of our own pictures taken! So off we went to Two Rivers to Point Beach for a weekend getaway! I fell in love with this light house and other photographers images but after exploring the area ourselves we knew we had to go back someday. We spent one of the days walking up the beach and admired the amazing view. The beach over looking Lake Michigan had sunsets of cotton candy tones making us feel like we were in Florida. When we entered the forest it's as if we were in Colorado surrounded by the tall evergreens, so many amazing views! The light beaming in was gorgeous as we walked along the paths with the beach behind us.

On our way up and back home we stopped in Port Washington, a town Nate visited when he was younger. After grabbing lunch we ventured out to the light house so watch the sun set. I'm pretty sure I said, "this is so pretty," about 50 times. Another spot we are definitely go back too!

We enjoyed Two Rivers so much we went back with the boys in December! This little slice of beauty became a place we all loved and we can't wait to go back in the summer! It was super cold when we went up with the boys but we still were able to get out and explore the frozen shoreline. It was so cool to see the water frozen as the formed into layers and balls of ice!
I was shocked at how many lighthouses were along the coast of Lake Michigan. Rawley Point Light, which is above, is located in Two Rivers at Point Beach. This lighthouse is the tallest lighthouse on the Great Lakes!

I am so fortunate that I was able to see new exciting locations in 2017. Each location I explored made me appreciate the ability to travel, each areas own uniqueness and the chance to wander. All of my travels in 2017 showed me at least one thing about myself that has helped me with future desires. I left each location with a new hop in my step and goal in mind. Being able to end the crazy year on a new happy chapter was really refreshing and needed. I grew a lot in 2017 and I am so excited to keep on this amazing journey we called life with the amazing people I get to spend my time with. 2018 is going to be a great year. :)
This getaway still hangs in my head pretty clearly as it was quite an adventure. Unfortunately I didn't take many photos as I was soaking in every bit of my company and enjoying my time quite a bit! Quite a few of these are cell phone shots and I'm okay with that because the best camera is the one you have on hand to capture the most meaningful moments. The countdown for this trip started at the beginning of June and oh my, did it feel like it was the longest summer ever because I was so excited to get here. I started packing a month in advance and I watched the weather like a hawk because lets be honest, Florida is H O T in August!!! I could hardly sleep the night before and I woke wayyy before I had too! I was absolutely freaking out because I was visiting family and exploring the beach! I even got to photograph them, see the gallery here! The flight felt like it took forever because I was so outrageously excited to see everyone. The moment I landed and stepped foot into the Florida air it was like I got slapped by an angry Mother Nature. The humidity was ridiculous. The jitters came back and I was all excited again. There is something about exploring an unknown area by your self that's really exhilarating!

After I got my rental car I was only a 30 minute drive away from seeing my friend in St. Petersburg. I was outrageously excited to finally land and enjoy this quick trip! Also, the view was pretty amazing!
The Banyan Trees were so incredible to see!
This particular evening was peaceful. To sit on an empty pier and eat our to-go food that we had picked up at, "That Mexican Place." The food was pretty delicious too! Watching the sky change with classical music playing in the background this moment was easily one of my favorites.

Treaty Oak Park | Jacksonville, Florida
I had been wanting to see Treaty Oak park for years now. A local Florida photographer who I follow had an event here and I knew I had to see this amazing tree for myself.
At the end of every tunnel there is...
...light and new opportunities waiting.
On my last night in the great state of Florida I ventured out to Treasure Island in Saint Petersburg and watched the sun set alone. I sat in the white sand and watched families and couples play together in the evening tide. I sat there with sand all over me thinking at how brave I was for jumping on a plane to expand my circle of networking with no set plans. I learned a lot about myself at the end of this adventure. I did something I never thought I would do and I had a great time jumping and putting my faith into life again. This will always be a trip I remember.

...and one day I hope to be back here.
This past spring I ventured out to Colorado again to explore an area that captured my heart. The moment I got off the plane and saw the Rocky Mountains it was love at first sight. The airport even smelled of evergreens, even if it was artificially scented! I loved it, every bit of it. After I got my bag I stepped foot in the crisp Colorado air and a shiver went down my spine. I was totally ready for this fun adventure. Once I got my rental car I was off to the hotel and ready to begin this journey. Along with exploring the area I got to photograph a stunning young lady. You can check out her session here!
The first stop was Chautauqua Park in Boulder. What a gorgeous view it was! The Flat Irons are also located in this amazing park which over looks Boulder.
Oh, Rocky Mountains, you are gorgeous.
I love mountains. So much I had to get a tattoo of them. The way these giant rocks have been formed over the years and the variations of life with each elevation. The cold crisp air and misty rain was so incredibly refreshing to experience. In these moments and in this area I did not want to leave. I told my friend who came along at least 10 times that I did not want to come home. As I looked out over this foggy little lake I thought about everything that I have been through this past year. The sadness hung in the mist but knowing that all of these feelings and weather were temporary was incredibly uplifting.

2017 has been my year to rediscover myself and find what makes me happy. This year has also been terrifying and exciting all at once. Along with experiencing new locations I have met some incredible people. This trip I was lucky enough to have one of my best friends go with me. We met last spring and quickly became friends through the year and I am incredibly thankful for her friendship. We laughed till we cried and I cried as I poured my heart out to her about so many things. This trip really made me realize a lot about myself. I realized I was no longer afraid to venture out into the world and open myself up to others. At the end of the day I was so overly happy with everyone in my life and the impact everyone has had on my heart and soul. Thank you, Brandi, for being there and agreeing to go with me! Thank you for experiencing such beauty with me!

Garden of the Gods + Colorado Springs
Where the rocks are red, people rock climb and deer jump the fences feet from you! The moment I entered the park, I again started squealing with excitement. The rocks looked so small from the high way and the moment I stepped foot out of the vehicle I felt so small. These magnificent rocks standing feet above me with rock climbers sprinkled over them. It was such a sight!
"Life begins at the end of your comfort zone." -Neale Donald Walsch
Jumping on a plane twice with no strict agenda is out of character for me. I am a planner, I write what I have going on and make lists, I feel I am a pretty organized person. I have stepped out of my comfort zone in a lot of areas this year and I am so proud of myself. The choices I have made have been really refreshing and very much needed. I chose to open up my heart again and let others in. Even if some things didn't work out, at the end, they actually did work out. The moments that followed were a lesson in so many ways for me. I have turned my 'negatives' into positive situations even if it took a little time. Everything that happens in our life does end up teaching us at least one thing. I learned what it was like to really love and care for someone for everything that they are. I felt alive for the first time in a really long time and I owe it one special person. The time we had together and the talks we shared I will always be grateful for our quality time. You will always be someone who sits dearly in my heart. Thank you, for being you.
Pikes Peak was an incredible experience. 14K feet high, where it was absolutely freezing and windy. It takes a solid 30 minutes to get up to the top and it is absolutely work the drive. I was on top of the world, almost. The view was magnificent!
Colorado, I love your views, your vibe and crisp fresh air.
Local art fills downtown Denver and let me tell you, it's pretty amazing ! The murals that are sprinkled through the city are truly stunning. Here were a few of my favorites!
